Your votes are in

Howdy. I'll begin here with posting the results of your favorite places in Big D. "The Metroplex" is probably more accurate, but I'll refer to the restaurants being in Big D unless otherwise noted.
Stuck in a rut? Click on the cuisines on the right and pick somewhere new. Only brave enough to try something new at a favorite place? Come back and let us know what to order. I'll let you in on my personal picks. I'm trying to get to all of these to see if you truly can be trusted or if I have to start judging your taste in everything now. Muahaha.
Let's dish.

Oink, welcome to Pigface. My initial idea for Pigface was to create a Christmakkah gift book for my friends and family (a totally bootleg Zagat's if you will) full of ideas of places they may or may not have heard about. I asked 52 friends (all of whom have exceptional taste) to name their favorite places in Dallas. Sure, I got about a million votes for Fireside Pies, but what I was really seeking were the off-beat, indie gems that are just as good and without all the hype and occasional overpromise. Growing up here in Far North Dallas with frugal, food-loving Jewish parents, we found our places. The ones that may not be in the guide books, but delicious and inviting. You know, the neighborhood FND/Richardson crowd. I want to share them with my friends in my new neighborhood: The M Streets/Lakewood area.
Wait...so why are you reading about this online? The true fun of sharing restaurants is to just that: share. A book can't be updated as often as I'd like, and it's only my comments, not all of y'all's. I want everyone to be able to comment: with your favorite dishes, rants/raves, and new finds. Finally, putting Pigface online can bring immediate news of openings and closings, "come join me's", events, etc.
So, that being said, here we go. If you were one to recommend a place to me, let us all know why. If you had a great experience, tell us. We'll try to keep it positive yet opinionated.
As always, eat, drink, and be merry.
Cheers,
Pia
